This event includes an exciting opening act with lyricist Jay, a film screening, a story circle workshop and an interactive art experience. An event open to all.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 300;\">This is not just a film screening. It\u2019s a <\/span><strong>transformative experience<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 300;\">, bringing together <\/span><strong>over 120+ attendees<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 300;\"> for an evening of storytelling, conversation, and deep reflection. Through an intimate <\/span><strong>StoryCircle workshop<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 300;\"> and an interactive <\/span><strong>Heart &amp; Head Commitment art experience<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 300;\">, this event will be a safe space for open conversations about trans and queer family and community acceptance-conversations that rarely take place in public forums.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 300;\">The event will open with <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">a special performance by Lyricist Jay <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 300;\">&#8211; a queer artist, parent, and storyteller known for blending poetry, music, and humor in unexpected ways. Followed by a <\/span><strong>screening of the award-winning documentary film Amma\u2019s Pride<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 300;\">, and Q&amp;A discussion with the film\u2019s participants- <\/span><strong>Srija, her mother Valli, and her partner Arun<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 300;\">, whose powerful story of love, resilience, and legal triumph has resonated with audiences worldwide. Directed by Shiva Krish, <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 300;\">Amma\u2019s Pride<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 300;\"> follows Valli\u2019s journey as she supports her trans daughter, Srija, through love, marriage, and the fight for its legal recognition in Tamil Nadu.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>A First-of-Its-Kind Event in Chennai<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li style=\"font-weight: 300;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>The Power of Storytelling<\/strong>:<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 300;\"> The <\/span><strong>StoryCircle workshop<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 300;\">, led by facilitators, will break attendees into small groups of 8-10, fostering <\/span><strong>safe, meaningful dialogue<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 300;\"> between trans folks and allies.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 300;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>A Physical Commitment to Change<\/strong>:<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 300;\"> The event will close with the <\/span><strong>Heart &amp; Head Commitment<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 300;\"> art experience, where participants will express their personal commitments to supporting trans and queer individuals,whether emotional (heart) or action-driven (head).<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 300;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Bridging Communities &amp; Driving Change<\/strong>:<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 300;\"> This event isn\u2019t just about awareness\u2014it\u2019s about <\/span><strong>shifting mindsets, sparking long-term allyship, and creating ripples that will extend beyond this space.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Path to Pride: A Nationwide Impact Tour<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 300;\">Chennai marks the launch of the <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 300;\">Path to Pride<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 300;\"> impact campaign, a <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">five-city tour<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 300;\"> designed to foster deeper conversations on trans and queer rights across India.
