{"id":13972,"date":"2024-08-09T18:20:46","date_gmt":"2024-08-09T12:50:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/matribhumisamachar.com\/en\/?p=13972"},"modified":"2024-08-09T18:20:46","modified_gmt":"2024-08-09T12:50:46","slug":"trai-releases-consultation-paper-on-audit-related-provisions-of-telecommunication-broadcasting-and-cable-services-interconnection-addressable-systems-regulations-2017-and","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/new.matribhumisamachar.com\/en\/2024\/08\/09\/trai-releases-consultation-paper-on-audit-related-provisions-of-telecommunication-broadcasting-and-cable-services-interconnection-addressable-systems-regulations-2017-and\/","title":{"rendered":"TRAI releases Consultation Paper on \u2018Audit related provisions of Telecommunication (Broadcasting and Cable) Services Interconnection (Addressable Systems) Regulations, 2017\u2019 and \u2018Telecommunication (Broadcasting and Cable) Services Digital Addressable Systems Audit Manual\u2019"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) today issued the Consultation Paper on \u2018Audit related provisions of Telecommunication (Broadcasting and Cable) Services Interconnection (Addressable Systems) Regulations, 2017 and the Telecommunication (Broadcasting and Cable) Services Digital Addressable Systems\u00a0 Audit\u00a0 Manual\u2019.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In consonance with the complete digitization of the cable TV sector, TRAI on 3<sup>rd<\/sup>\u00a0March 2017 notified the Regulatory Framework for Broadcasting and Cable services which included Telecommunication (Broadcasting and Cable) Services Interconnection (Addressable Systems) Regulations, 2017 [hereinafter called Interconnection Regulation].<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">TRAI also issued the Telecommunication (Broadcasting and Cable) Services Digital Addressable Systems Audit Manual [hereinafter called Audit Manual] on 8<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0November 2019.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">One of the prime objectives of TRAI is to create a fair and equitable environment for all stakeholders. Interconnection Regulation establish a trust-based system through third-party auditors to balance the diverse interests of various service providers, including broadcasters and distributors, while keeping the consumers at the forefront. Independent Audit is one of the core principles of Interconnection Regulations. In this regard, some stakeholders have opined that certain amendments are required in the audit related provisions in the Interconnection Regulation 2017.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Further consequent upon acceptance of TRAI recommendations on \u201cSharing of Infrastructure in Television Broadcasting Distribution Sector\u201d dated 29<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0March 2017, MIB has issued guidelines for infrastructure sharing.
